Bangladesh makes history with massive 546-run win against Afghanistan

Bangladesh registered their largest margin of victory in terms of runs in Test cricket history on Saturday, crushing Afghanistan by 546 runs on day three of the one-off Test in Dhaka.

The win was Bangladesh's biggest ever margin of victory in any format, surpassing their previous best of 339 runs against Zimbabwe in 2018.

Afghanistan, resuming on 76/2 in their second innings, were bowled out for 176, as Bangladesh's spinners continued to dominate. Taijul Islam finished with 5 for 40, while Shakib Al Hasan took 3 for 23.

Bangladesh had declared their first innings on 560/6, with Liton Das scoring 136 and Mominul Haque making 111. Afghanistan were then bowled out for 133 in their first innings.

The win gives Bangladesh a 1-0 lead in the two-match series, with the second Test set to begin on June 22 in Dhaka.
